I've been poking around looking for an educational MOO I could point people to, but most of the lists are hopelessly out of date. Ansible is about all I can find, and not necessarily an appropriate resource for a bunch of kids wanting to learn programming rather than RP.
Does anyone happen to know any more general interest MOOs (or other similar text-based game that allows programming) that are still in operation?
(ETA: LambdaMOO still exists, but I'd be happy to know about anything else, especially anything specifically oriented at K12 education.)

What Ansible Meant To Me
A friend of mine did something like this for another now-defunct game I used to play on. But while that game was her first MU*, Ansible was mine. And a part of me feels really, really lame for saying all of this, especially in a community that no one ever really reads anymore... but whatever. Anyone who played at Ansible long enough knows where I'm coming from.( What Ansible Meant to MeCollapse )

I see that it's been about three years since anyone last posted to this community, so, here I am to let anyone still watching it know that Ansible is, indeed, still around! There've been a bunch of people coming back lately, so if anyone who's been gone a while wants to join them, you'll be more than welcome :)

As some of you have probably noticed, we've been getting spam in here lately. I've turned on moderated posting for the time being, since no one is really posting anything legit anyways :) So if you do post something legit, I apologize for the delay.

Well, since Ansible seems to be down, I charge you all with the responsibility of entertaining me. If you want, you can take shifts, but don't expect me to organize you into shift-groups or anything. I'm sure that Dylan will cover this part, and in the meantime, everyone else can work on their various skills. Be warned, though, only the truly impressive is truly impressive, and I won't be fooled by any cheap tricks or thinly veiled lies.
p.s. I'm bored.
p.p.s. hurry hurry hurry

Would just like to say, that when I read the last post here, I thought it said the group name was ansiblemoose.
For explanation: http://www.geocities.com/ansible_moose/
Pointless and probably just plain stupid to most people, but yes. We leos are one strange group. That is all.

Sorry 'bout that - just the Raven in me emerging and using my hands for a moment.
Ok, yes, I'm silly. And I don't use Livejournal for much except communities. But that's ok.

A day in the life of Tylo Blackhawk ...
If I want to ever get a second position anytime soon I'm going to have to compete with an NPC ... a rather popular NPC. Maybe I should just hope for the trade ... Current Mood: hot
